Ideal and dangerous temps for CPU

Hello, I recently upgraded my GPU to a gtx 980. I believe my processor is having some new difficulty because of the power that the new GPU is taking.

Since I replaced the GPU, I have heard my fans blare whenever I'm doing something like play a game or watch a live stream.

The CPU temp is idle at around 40-50c and maxes at around 70-80c when playing just about any game.

I also noticed that when playing games that are more CPU intensive, I have more problems, obviously.

So I ask, what would be a good solution to this, before I am able to buy a new CPU?

Specs:
CPU - AMX FX 62120
GPU - GTX 980
Motherboard - Gigabyte 2AC8

You mean the FX 6120? Your idle temps do seem really high unless you're lucky enough to live in an extremely hot country, but then again, temperatures on AMD CPU's below a certain point can be way off. What program are you using to record the temperature and what reading are you taking?

I'm using CPUID HWMonitor to check the temperatures. Seems the fans start to go crazy when it gets hotter, so I don't think it's wrong temps.

And the PSU is a CX750
