I'm upgrading finally from XP to 7. Have Asus P5AD2-E Deluxe, Intel Pentium 4, 3.2GHz,3.25 GHz Ram,NVidia GeForce GT 610 graphics, Dell 1905 FP analog monitor, Creative SB Audigy 2ZS sound. I ran Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor Report and apparently I can do it only losing a few components with a a custom installation of 32-bit Windows 7 Pro. Short on cash, but I'd like ideally to upgrade Asus mo and CPU ideally i5 (and also probably 64-bit Win)...and what else? I've put this off for so long it's ridiculous but $$$ is issue. I've looked into Asus Z170 Deluxe. I'd really love some guidance.

Asus Z170-A will save you some money and provide about anything you'll need - What CPU? If not going with a K model could look at a H170 mobo and save more 😉

Thanks very much. With the past 5 hours trying to figure out how I can have what I want ideally, I just can't afford it right now. I will take your advice later on and probably get the H170 and a whole new Windows ready for update to (ugh) 10. There's a way to preserve a free Win10 upgrade for later use (I think). For now, it'll just be a limping-along system with 32-bit Windows 7 et al (sob).
