Ideal Fan Placement for Gaming PC?

Hello all,
I'm putting together a gaming PC, and initially I only had one fan on the rear. I quickly realized that this was insufficient, as my CPU temps got close to 100C under heavy load according to MSI afterburner (my GPU temps, however, were quite good) so I purchased and installed two more fans. My question is, what is the ideal fan placement for my case to lower CPU temp? The whole intake/exhaust equation has got me confused. I've created a crude not-quite-to-scale drawing of my current set up.

Forgive my poor paint skills.
Thanks for any help.

If that is properly installed, the CPU should never approach the temp you are seeing. It has nothing to do with the case fans.

I think an actual picture of the case would work here.

Ok, sorry it took so long for me to get back, but I've found a problem. I got moswt of my parts from a friend's 1 yr old computer, and I never checked for damage. I just found this on the cpu.

Looks like some thermal compound came off. I still have some compound left, should I try to fill it back in?
Should I take this question to another board?
