Its that time of the year where my current rig gets passed down to another member of the family. As such I was wondering if the community had any ideas for a $500 rig. Only parts I will get to keep is my power supply and hard drive.

I wrote this for someone just earlier.. its $587 before rebates*. Just take out the hard drive and power supply and probably aim for a better gpu or get the i5-2500k for $220 and a p67 or z68 motherboard for around $100 from Newegg. If you live near Microcenter, it's $180 for the i5-2500k and $40 off motherboard.
