I have virtually no budget, and my case is the Rosewill Thor V2. I have had my PC for about a month now, but had just thrown in a 212 evo for a temporary solution. Now I'm looking for coolers to overclock with. The one I'm most interested in is the NH-D15. On a different thread somebody had suggested that the NH-D15 was not compatible with my case, but this doesn't seem true. The NH-D15 is 165mm, and my case is said to be compatible with 180mm CPU coolers. On top of that my 159mm 212 evo definitely has more than 6mm of room. But is this the right cooler to get? Or do I wait for upcoming coolers that will be better, as my 212 evo does just fine right now?

Any ideas are appreciated,
Thanks!

One thing to take into consideration is the clearance on the memory (you never listed that)
The cooler I use Cryorig R1 Universal has no clearance issues with memory.
I would highly recommend this cooler or the ultimate version their about tit for tat for cooling performance.

The hyper evo 212 is a pretty capable cooler to overclock with, but if you are planning to overclock to the extreme on air, the NH-d15 is probably your best bet and there should be 5 mm of clearance as your case can fit the nh-d14, but you have to make sure that you have enough clearance for your ram sticks. But a better choice is to go custom water cooling.
