Hello everyone!
So I have been performing some upgrades to my build, and I just wanted a general opinion of what could make my gaming experience better. Obviously money is a constraint, so if there are any opportunities for a value-upgrades, please let me know! Obviously the GPU market is interesting at the moment, but I have heard that it is getting better. Here is my current list of everything, and what I have upgraded from:
CPU: Intel Core i5-7600K (upgraded from Intel Core i5-6400)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master - Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler
Motherboard: Gigabyte - GA-H110M-A Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard
Memory: Corsair - Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory
Storage: Kingston - SSDNow UV400 240GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
GPU: Gigabyte - Radeon R9 380X 4GB WINDFORCE 2X Video Card
Case: Cooler Master Trooper SE (upgraded from DIYPC - Solo-T1-BK ATX Mid Tower Case)
Power supply: Power Spec 550W (upgraded from EVGA - 400W ATX Power Supply)
Keyboard & Mouse: Razer BlackWidow Ultimate, Razer Deathadder Elite
Monitor: Samsung S22E310H 21.5" LED Monitor
I have been on here a bunch recently describing my issues with input delay, but the increase in cooling has definitely helped with reducing temperatures of both the CPU and GPU; which in turn has reduced the input lag. I peak at around 70 C for my GPU during gaming, and I peak around 50 C for my CPU; which I have been told is good! The build has come a long way, but I am still striving for the best possible combination of parts. The questions I have for you guys is:
My motherboard is fairly small (especially since I have a huge case now), so it seems that an upgrade could be nice aesthetically. But also, does upgrading a motherboard usually impact performance? Are there any ideas for an upgrade here?
I tend to have FPS drops during games like Fortnite (from around 120 to 85-90 during heavy visual activity), and I know that I am not capable of running certain games. Is there another GPU that would give a major upgrade to performance and visuals? Would it be compatible with my build?
I have a total of 4 fans in my case. Is reaching ambient temperature during non-gaming a good thing to have? Do you recommend that I install more fans? Water cooling seems extra considering my CPU is stable, but do you believe that it would help? My GPU tends to reach a higher temperature, what are some solutions to reducing its peak temperatures?
I really appreciate whoever takes the time to go through this. If there is anything that I did not mention that could use an upgrade, please let me know! Thank you so much
