Okay, first off. I've had a background in computer repair for about three years now. I've been dealing with a fellow from the town adjacent to mine for a month or two. We've really hit it off, and have quite a bit in common in terms of likes, dislikes and even upbringing. We've had similar contacts through our dealings(he does repair part-time as well) and are both becoming comfortable with our interactions with one another.
We've tossed around the idea of entering a partnership before, but it became more serious tonight. We're going to meet in the next day or so to verbally discuss everything we could possibly wish to bring up before embarking on this mission together. I guess what I'm asking you guys is, what do you believe I should get settled with him beforehand, before entering the partnership officially?
I'm thinking we need to discuss assets, as in items we both bring in for company use. How earnings are distributed between he, I and the business. How we plan to advertise. A discussion of his skill sets and mine.
He already has an office location separate from his home that he pays $250 a month for. Ergo we'll be splitting that bill. We believe there's an untapped potential in our towns for computer repair, and we're hoping to fix, not exploit that.
Can any of you think of things I should probably discuss with him before we 100% decide it's the right thing to do? And opinions or experiences in this area that might be of use to me?
