Ideas for raspberry pi projects?

Hello, i need an idea or a project for my raspberry pi because ive had it for about 6 months and i havemt done much with it. Im not looking to spend too much money so try some low cost ideas! Thank you

browse hack-a-day projects, or pi forums. no idea what kind of materials you have laying around, what interests you, what is usefull for you.

Mine started out as an xbmc player but I ended up building an htpc for that, now the pi is a wifi garage door opener for me that I can open/close and check status from a remote app on my android devices.

I have a camera module for it but not much else. What is a htpc?

I used to use my pi as an xbmc media player using openelec os which is a very stripped down linux distro just for xbmc.
FYI xbmc is a highly configurable streaming media player software that plays all sorts of local media content and organizes it in a very clean interface and allows you to write all sorts of scripts for it (or download ones others have made).
