Hello everyone!

I was thinking and analyzing the possibility of updating my pc a bit.

My current config is:

  • ■ LG Ultrawide Monitor 2560 x 1080
    ■ i5 6500
    ■ B150 Pro Gaming Aura
    ■ 16GB DDR4
    ■ GTX 1060 6GB
    ■ Seasonic S12II 520 Bronze
With the release of the new RTX the prices of the gpu begin to fall little by little, but I do not know if I should update the cpu first (motherboard included).

I was thinking about buying the following:

  • ■ Asus ROG Strix H370-F
    ■ 8th or 9th(release soon, I think) gen i5 or i7
    ■ New PSU maybe?
Should I buy an 8th (or 9th) generation CPU while I wait for the output of the gtx 2060?
If the gtx 2060 doesn't convince me I could buy a 1080 or 1080ti since its price would be lower.

Thanks!

Ok so yea the 9th gens are rumored to be coming out the beginning of October but I think for the 9400/9500/9600 the only real difference is the slightly higher clocked speeds so waiting may be kind of pointless. If you have the budget then the 8700(K) would be a good upgrade.

The i5-6500 is still a good CPU and the 1060 6gb games well at 1080P. Is there any games your having trouble running or do you have money burning a hole in your wallet?

If you don't have one I'd highly suggest getting a 240+gb SSD or maybe even a monitor upgrade.

I have an ultrawide lg monitor, 2560 x 1080 (post updated, sorry), a lot of games doesn't run smoothly, like Assassin's Creed Origins, Batman Arkham Knight, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Talos Principle, Ryse: Son of Rome (yeah, this is an horrible port).
And I have a 4k TV, sometimes I set game resolutions to 3840x2160 only to see the details, or play old games (firsts Assassin's Creed, etc).
