I am having a problem with either my power supply or motherboard. It will run for a while fine but if I put it under a load the video will artifact so bad it locks up the system then the power will shut off and the system powers down. I have tested the video card in another system under a load and it works fine. I will be trying another power supply tonight. The X-Connect is the power supply I will be replacing to test.

One more note I forgot. I looked at the voltage in the BIOS and all were in the normal range but the 3.3 v. It was down to only 2.75 v.

Gotta be PSU. 2.75v on the 3.3v is BAD. You might get away with 3-3.1v, but not under 3.0. It really sounds like your PSU is pooched. GL :)

I tested the PSU last night and it showed that both my 3.3 and 12 volt rails were bad. This is a modular PSU so I disconnected each cable and reseated them and tested it again and this time everything passed. I hooked up my volt meter to it and each rail had the correct voltage. I ran a stress test with 3DMark06 on repeating tests and no failures this time. It looks like the modular design may come loose from time to time. Thanks for the posts and advise.

Thats interesting info on the modular P/S!

Guess they'll eventually have to have securing screws like the other components on the back of the computer that must not come loose while powered up, that could be a disaster.
