I have to recover the data from an old hard drive, a Western Digital 160GB WD1600AAJS-00WAA0.

The problem is, when I tried to go to a professional data recovery center, they wanted to charge me 100Euro for the data recovery and 200EURO for another identical hdd which they need to take some parts from. I found the 200EURO for a 9 year old 160gb to be a bit much, so I'm trying to
find a cheaper solution. I couldn't find any in my country, but I found the next best thing on ebay

My question is, is this HDD "identical" to take parts from? http://www.ebay.com/itm/160GB-Western-Digital-WD1600AAJS-00WAA0-DCM-HBNNHTJCH-3-5-SATA-Hard-Disk-Drive-/222450473665?epid=650657620&hash=item33cb14dac1:g:59oAAOSwDKtY1TRv

From what I see MDL is the same, the only differences are

S/N
DATE
DCM
WWN

and the fact that one is Malaysia and one is Thailand

Solution
What is wrong with the original drive?
What 'parts' are you expecting to swap? If more than just the PCB, you can't.
The data recovery company won't just accept some random drive from fleabay that you come up with.

The hard drive doesn't seem to spin anymore. So are you saying my only solution is to pay 200Euro for a hard drive bought by them?...

That is entirely up to them.
They have zero idea of the history of that used ebay drive.
Does it work? No idea.
Has it been dropped? No idea.

All you can do is ask them.
