[SOLVED] Identifying motherboard component

Hi, I wondered if this is a so called "wifi card" that I could use to wirelessly connect to.. my wifi. Although I also wondered if its a standard/universal type of component that could be used in my new Asrock B365M Pro4 motherboard as the component as shown in the picture comes from an HP OEM motherboard.

the card in the middle right of the pic is a wifi card, not really sure what "this" is you are asking about though....

it can be used in any system with the correct slot. some mobo's have such a slot some don't. you're motherboard appears to be one that does not have such a slot.

Yes, that is a WiFi adapter. WLAN.

Probably NOT usable in your new ASRock motherboard.

Don't.
Just get a PCIe or USB WiFi adapter.

Don't sacrifice an M.2 port just for WiFi.
Even if the M.2 ports on your motherboard are compatible.

save the trouble and wasted slot. those little things are good for laptops and other small devices but really are not needed for a regular system. if the mobo already has the slot, then go for it, but wasting a normal pcie slot for wifi is a terrible idea.
