i got a h57 dell oem motherboard, good with all my parts except the cpu i currently have a i7 870 xeon but i need a better one, i have the 8th gen i5-8600k but i dont know if it will fit in my motherboard to replace my crappy old cpu so if it fits i will go buy it and installl i just dont know if it will fit

An 8600k will most definitely not work in that board. The 8600k only works on 300 series motherboard(H310, B360, H370 and Z370). You will also need DDR4 ram as your current cpu and board use DDR3.
