I just notice that my E8500 oc'd to 3.8ghz idles a bit weird. With the FSB at 400, ram at 1.9v with 1:1 ratio, Core 0 seems to be about 7 degrees cooler on average. From what I recall it idles at 25 or so. I have an antec twelve hundred case with the rear fans and top fan on medium, the rest on low (6 fans total). I intend to torture test today to check for errors, but from the 10-45 minute tests I ran last night neither core gets above 53 C. I was wondering if that sort of variation is normal. Thanks in advance.

Edit: I forgot to mention a few things. First I'm using the Xig 1283 cooler, everything is set to default (auto) but the ram voltage, FSB and CPU ratio.

You might want to try remounting if one core is 7C higher than the other. Other than that 53C is a safe temp, you can keep pushing if you would like.

Yea, its probably just a bad sensor like randomizer said. Take realtemp and set it about 3 or 4 C above the rest (it should be like that normally because the core 0 takes the prime95 load + any other processes cause its the first core)
