Idle temperatures high spikes

Im getting random temperature spike readings, on idle my comp runs around the 40c but on the max value it sometimes hits 80c instantly and goes away back to 40c.

what will cause this sort of behaviour, iv just installed a new water cooler

which cooler is it? What processor are you using? Some processors have different heat properties so I can help you as soon as I know.

h80i v2 with a I7 4790k

just to inform you the cooler before this new one (old version of the h80i) was running around 35-45c and would never spike beyond 50.

I have been monitoring my CPU usage and did a few tests. when opening Chrome my CPU will spike to 60c then go back to 40.

I have also noticed opening other applications spike the temperature of my CPU but not as much as Chrome

before the liquid cooler change this behaviour was non existent, I don't know what is exactly is the cause of the problem. anyone with experience help me out?
