IE10 not listed as an installed update?

I need to remove IE 10 and 9 to go down to 8 for software compatibility. I've done this several times before; I know IE10 and 9 are considered updates and typically uninstalled from the "view installed updates" section in the control panel.

However, on a particular Windows 7 Pro machine, this update is simply not listed. I searched quite a bit but couldn't come across this same issue. The closest I found was this thread mentioning a similar issue with IE9 but I'm not sure if it would apply to IE10. Maybe if I first changed the command to "10" from "9" and then ran it again to go down to 8? It's for a friend's machine that I can't play around with endlessly so I'd like to know what I'm doing ahead of time. Any ideas?

Uh okay obviously you didn't read my post or even the thread title. I don't know how to put it more clearly than my title. Your solution is not applicable to my situation.
