Okay, after much googling I am still puzzled. Why is there a super hidden ie5 content folder in Windows 7? I know IE saves temporary files to a temporary internet files folder that is cleared when I close the browser, however, there is another clone of this folder that doesnt get cleaned. Why does this folder exist when you already have another temporary internet folder that isnt super hidden? Real folder location
C:\Users\dad\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files
super hidden folder location
"%userprofile%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\content.ie5"
It seems every blog or post tells people how to get to the folder but no one ever touches on why the heck it is even there. Even on these forums. If it never gets cleaned this folder could become a hog and it has by reading numerous posts on the web of other users issues. It just doesn't make any since. Why the hell would they create this folder to mimic the other one? I just tested it out. I went to a website and the folder popped up for today. I clicked the delete folder option button and the history was removed from the plain temporary folder but it wasnt from the ie5 content folder. I dont even have ie5 and never did on w7. I'm confused as hell. Glad I use google chrome. IE still sucks.
