If a PC runs in another room but nobody hears it, is it making any noise?

So I was getting ready to order parts for my new PC build when I ran into LinusTechTips' video reviewing Cornering 100ft USB 3.0 cable. He jokes about this in the video but I'm seriously considering dumping the build I had planned and coming up with a new one focusing on raw performance rather than keeping my PC running super quiet.

I'm thinking a 15> ft USB 3.0 cable connected to a powered 3.0 hub and a 15> ft thunderbolt connected to my monitor should do the trick. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KTIY5Y0/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=I8APCLF2L46U&coliid=I335DQTHL3D423 http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JOJRF6K/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=I8APCLF2L46U&coliid=IA2PJLOHLAL5G

What do you guys think? Is there something else I'd need to take into consideration with this setup?

There isn't any speed lost in these cables. Only thing I can think of is that neither my graphics card (gtx 970) nor my monitor (benq) take thunderbolt. Something I'll have to solve with converters.
