If consoles can use Wireless RF/Bluetooth for controllers...?

I just built my monster gaming PC that I'm very happy and proud with. It's hooked up to the big screen TV in the living room.

However, the live-in girlfriend is NOT happy about the Keyboard/Mouse cords running from the PC to the Coffee Table, hahaha. She suggested that I get a Wireless Keyboard/Mice set (which I know is not gaming-friendly).

That got me thinking... if the Xbox 360 and PS3 can use either 2.4ghz or Bluetooth for their controllers, how come a Wireless Keyboard & Mouse is not usable on a PC? The PC far surpasses the consoles in all aspects of modern day gaming...except in the controller department.

A quick search on Google/Tom's Hardware shows that no one really recommends any wireless keyboard/mouse sets. If there is one suitable for gaming, please let me know before my girlfriend breaks up with me. hahaha

Mouse:- Rat 9 (best wireless mouse)
keyboard :- any wireless keyboard should do.. (you can search for wireless gaming, should be plenty but shouldn't matter much mouse is the most important)

Else you can buy a wireless Hub and join in wired component to the wireless hub.. lond way wound

Thanks for the suggestions! I actually dug into some of the reviews on Amazon and they don't recommend it for heavier gaming (e.g. First Person Shooters) because the keypress becomes "invalid" if held down for 10-20 seconds (e.g. I use the "c" key for crouching). Does anyone else have any other wireless gaming keyboard suggestions?

The Microsoft Arc aesthetically looks great. I have to admit that I didn't read the reviews because I'm currently using an old school Logitech MX 700. The MX 700 works really well, as long as the receiver is about 1-2 ft away from the mouse usage area. If anyone else wants to dig out their MX 700, it works well in Windows 7 except that you can't really change the advanced settings (e.g. higher refresh rates) because there is no driver support. I believe there are some workarounds but I have yet to try them.
