I just built my new computer, (thanks to the guys on my thread who helped me and gave advice) and can max Oblivion out with any combo of settings I want while running 20+ mods + DLC with no frame lag. I read some reviews on various websites and there have been reports of mild success, Would it be worth it to buy skyrim?

i3-4130 @ 3.4Ghz Processor http://ark.intel.com/products/77480/Intel-Core-i3-4130-Processor-3M-Cache-3_40-GHz
4GB DDR3 1600 ram (once I recover some money i plan on upgrading to 16)
Sapphire Radeon r9 270 dual-x 2gb Graphics Card
550watt PSU
ASRock H97m pro4 Motherboard

Also, I know Skyrim is more CPU intensive than GPU intensive and that my card is more than capable of running high settings. It is just more of a question of the CPU... Posted link of CPU for more specs instead of copying them all down.

Thanks in advance! Will reply in the morning.

Google 'system requirements lab', it will have you download a plugin and then check your computer to see how it will run on certain games according to known system specs and how they run the game.

I tried that, it passes "minimum" and "recommended" with yellow question marks (not red Xs or green checks). So it didn't really help me much.

EDIT: If I can only play it on low/mid settings i do not see it worth buying

The yellow question mark indicates that you may be able to update some software to fix the issue. If this is the case then it may be worth it.

The i3-4130 can't be overclocked.
It's irrelevant either way, since the R9 270 and the i3-4130 both can easily put Skyrim on ultra settings at stock speeds.

i3-4130
Minimum framerate at ultra = 57
Average framerate at ultra = 87

R9 270
Minimum framerate at ultra = 64
Average framerate at ultra = 82
