[SOLVED] If i have higher ram speed than my motherboard will the ram speed go down to 2666mhz i have 3000mhz but motherboard supports 2666mhz

if i have i5 9400f and a h310m m2 plus msi motherboard will ram speed set to 2666mhz motherboard ram speed im getting 3000mhz will the ram go down to 2666mhz i cant xmp on my motherboard

im getting 3000mhz ram will it boot or no

It will be limited to the lower max of the motherboard.

Make sure you set up the ram properly in BIOS that way it will never go over the motherboards rated max as if it does, you may have to reset bios to get into the pc.
