If i restore factory settings on my computer will it solve my cd rom drive probl

Hello,
i was wondering if i restored my pc to factory settings would it solve my cd rom drive problem, the driver is corrupted and i get the error code 39, also there are no system sounds, but i can talk in my mic and be heard, thnx for any help with this
