If i3 (1155) works in my motherboard, will i7 (1155) work?

Solution
Download CPU-Z and look at your Motherboard Model under Mainboard Tab.
I think with just BIOS update you should be able to use that i7.

Hi:) The i7 i have bought, is an i7 quad core, 3770k - which i believe to be ivy bridge. The existing processor i have is an i3 cpu, which i think is sandy bridge. As for my mobo i am not 100% sure on it as i have forgot, all i know is that its fitting my 16gb of 1600mhz ram, and my i3, 3.3ghz cpu again socket 1155 currently... hope this is sufficient!
