FX processors are AM3+. Your motherboard uses the older socket AM3.

You will want to look for a CPU on this list: https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-MA78LMT-S2-rev-3x/support#support-cpu

A 6 core phenom would work, but these are not very high clocked and have pretty poor performance, aswell as a pretty high price all things concidered.

Have a Phenom II x6 1055T I had managed a stable clock of 3.6 with no extra voltage. Can find them from $60-90. Which considering I got my Ryzen 5 2600 for $112, is pretty pricey. But that requires a lot more money for upgrading mobo and ram to use (was a $350 upgrade to go from AM3 to AM4) so $90 may look much more appealing to many budget builders.

I ran across this post with someone that has some 1055T cheap:

Sounds good.

What do you intend to do with this cpu? What gpu will you use.
