Yeah so the Gigabyte GTX 960 needs an 8-pin and a 6-pin, but my PSU doesn't have the 8-pin. Can I buy new cables to connect/adapt? Thanks

You "could" use 2 Molex to power one 6pin or 8 pin, therefore you will need 4 free molex (on 2 diferent cables from PSU) to power the 960.

But as the others poster say to you usually is not a good idea. If you didnt have 6 and 8 pins connectos usually is due:
- The PSU is not good enought to power them, if you use the molex you put the psu (and the system) at risk, it could work but also could not even power up or in the worse case burn the psu as you will overload it.
- The PSU have power enought but is very old, and dont have the connectors, as the PSU have limited lifespan your best bet is also replace it.

Any time you have a power supply question always list everything your have in the PC including the make and model of your existing power supply.
Buy a new power supply!!!

Here's my build

CPU: i5 3570k @3.4GHz
PSU: Corsair CX500 (Bronze)
RAM: Ballistix Sport 2 X 4GB DDR3
HDD: 7200RPM 1TB Seagate
Monitor: 1600x900 BenQ 21.5" Monitor

Any suggestions for a better PSU? I'd like the CS550M by corsair but it lacks an 8-pin too
