If my motherboard says it can run 1600 ddr3 ram but only overclocker can i buy c

Hello, I want to buy some G.SKILL Sniper Ram at 1600 mhz. My Motherboard an MSI P67A GD65 (B3) says it can handle the 1600 mhz ram but only a overclock. Does this mean I can buy the 1600mhz ram and it will work with a few changes in the bios or does it mean I can get 1333 mhz ram and overclock it to 1600mhz? My build is on a Intel 2500K if that helps.
