I have a 2005 dell xps 600 with a foxconn Ls-36 motherboard, ddr2 ram. Does that mean i gotta have a graphics card ddr2 also? I thought ddr2 was the connection type on my motherboard...idk. lol. ddr2 graphic cards are harder to find.

Solution
No, system RAM and video RAM are entirely seperate.

Tp put it in context, pretty much every graphics card on the market runs GDDR5, yet we have been using DDR3 and only just now DDR4.
