What is the advantage of dvi/hdmi over via if you only have a 720p tv and not 180p thAt allows high resolutions?

Some people say they can notice a difference (I can't) in that DVI/HDMI provides a clearer picture. Then main advantage of DVI or HDMI over VGA is HDCP compliance. Devices such as Blu-Ray player require HDCP compliance with all components (BD Drive, Graphics card, Monitor) in order to play. VGA is not an HDCP compliant interface.
