if you go through all these steps snd still have problems, check the mother board for solder bridges.

or better yet check before your build some companies do not care if the solder runs together, that makes a short where the solder runs into another component.

when you are building a computer do not forget to make sure there are no solder bridges on anything with solder on it. if the solder runs into other components is a solder bridge and will cause short. some companies do not care about their work and if you do not look at these things before hand you can waste a lot of time and money putting your best time and money into them just to have them fail. I have taken things apart that quit working and have found this to be true of many companies most are out of business now or started making other products.

Ive built a hundred or more PCs in my time and ive never seen any kind of solder issues from manufactured items. That may be true with really cheap parts, but I have no idea cause I dont use really cheap parts when building PCs, ever. Not insinuating that you do, but I would imagine that may be a reason for crappy soldering.

I've got what looks like a solder bridge on my new MB. I think it is for the USB 3 connectors. I'm wondering if this could have caused the arc and burn I had posted about a few days ago. Burned out a monitor too.


Do you think it is a valid bridge?
