Hi Dont know loads but can build and swap out stufff in PC's not to much of a buff but I cant buy a new card I dont have any cash but have found a bargain to replace my currect spec core2 E6420 with Vista 32bit (yuk)

Ive brought 2 (one for me, one for my niece) of these for £169 refurbished from PC World Ebay outlet, its a massive beast of a case though. I know the spec's arent that much and only give around 33% more power than my E6420 on the CPU and the crap mobo is actually limited to DDDR2 (Boo!, Thanks Foxcon) Wanted it for Windows 7 really.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ADVENT-CPD1303-/130557300167?pt=UK_Computing_DesktopPCs&hash=item1e65d24dc7

PC operating system: Genuine Windows (R) 7 Home Premium
Processor Brand: AMD
Processor Model: Phenom II X2
Processor Number: 545
Processor Clock Speed: 3.0GHz
Processor Cache: 6MB
RAM Memory Size: 4GB
RAM Memory Type: DDR2
RAM Memory Clock Speed: 800MHz
Graphics Card Model: HD 5550
Graphics Card Memory and Type: 512MB

Now I currently have a Gainward ATI HD4650 512MB DDR2

http://www.gainward.com/main/vgapro.php?id=148

The original spec for this pc had the HD5550 at GDDR5
http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/advent-centurion-cpd1303-refurbished-desktop-pc-07604411-pdt.html

Now as these are refurbished models it doesnt mention the gddr clock speed on the ebay listing. I got the first PC and it hasnt got the GDDR5 version but the GDDR3 version of the HD5550.

Now question is do I swap the HD5550 512MB DDR3 for the HD4650 512MB DDR2 or keep the HD5550 in the new spec PC.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_AMD_graphics_processing_units

The HD5550 is 50Mhz slower off the clock speed of the HD4650 and the HD4650 has part of the core 32 where the HD5550 has 16. The HD5550 has about 60% more memory bandwidth and can handle DX11 and newer openGL.

Model Memory (MiB) Core (MHz) Memory (MHz) Config core1 Fillrate Pixel (GP/s) Fillrate Texture (GT/s) Memory Bandwidth (GB/s) Bus type Bus width (bit) GFLOPS
Radeon HD 4650[30] 512 600 400 320:32:08 4.8 19.2 16 DDR2 128 384
Radeon HD 5550[48] 512 550 400 320:16:08 4.4 8.8 25.6 GDDR3 128 352

I do play games (BF:BC2) but I always keep things like montion blur off (make me feel sick) and dont have things like AA on medium or high and ive only for a 19" 1440x900 monitor so but I might be upgrading that later to a 1080p native monitor, so I need to think about playing at that resolution.

there isnt much on the web at all comparing these two cards so im a bit stuck and through I would ask the experts.

If you HAD to have one of these cards which one would you have ?
