[SOLVED] If you replaced your drive with a new one in an old laptop, would the old system potentially damage/wear out your SSD faster?

Hi all,

In my situation I have the acer Nitro 5 AN515-53 which I intend to keep for a LONG time, I don't play games as much anymore so I don't really care about getting a new PC or whatever, I just want to use this for as long as possible before having to get a new one.

I have a refurbished laptop which I've been using for about 2 years and the HDD started failing, so I replaced it with an SSD. So far it's the only piece of hardware that has begun to show it's wear.

Let's say I use the laptop for 5 years and the CPU/memory or whatever starts slowing down due to wear, will that damage/affect the SSD in any way or is the wear on all hardware individual?

Solution
no

most of time wear isn't shared by parts, its individual

storage are historically the parts that wear out on PC but most ssd today will last long after you replace them.
