Hello, I hope someone will answer a simple question I cant find the answer to.

I am trying to purchase a new build with an SSD and motherboard, but am very confused about all these different PCIe 3.0 slot types (x1, x4, x16)...

Basically, I need to know if either of these motherboards will support this SSD: If not, what would be ideal around the same price.

Motherboards:

SSD:

https://www.newegg.com/samsung-1tb-980/p/N82E16820147804?Description=ssd&cm_re=ssd-_-20-147-804-_-Product&quicklink=true

Been using sata cable drives forever. Thanks in advance if anyone will help.

Either mobo will be fine for the ssd.

Thoughts.
Look at the samsung 970 evo ssd.
Both mobo's will use old gen cpu's.
