does asus p5kpl-am se motherboard support vt-d?
i want to gpu pass through my integrated graphics on virt manager
Btw when i see the bios vanderpool technology is enabled

so i want to passthrough my igpu
and i would be doing it on arch linux
im using ASUS P5KPL-AM SE Motherboard
and im using nvidia gt 520 as dedicated gpu and its connected to my monitor
but when i type lspci it dosent show my igpu

and i checked that my cpu and my motherboard supported vt-d
and vanderpool technology is enabled

If you connect a display directly to one of the motherboard video outputs, is an image produced?

In motherboards of that era, it was very common for the on-board/integrated video adapter to be disabled completely when a dedicated GPU was installed.

ok i will try that but when i go into the bios theres a setting
on the northbridge chipset that says peg/pci peg/igd etc
can i just change the settings maybe?

That setting, if I remember correctly, just sets which GPU device has boot priority during startup.

Give it a go and see if it helps. Will look at the mobo manual to see what it says.

The manual (https://www.asus.com/supportonly/P5KPLAM_SE/HelpDesk_Manual/) shows limited settings on page 2-9 of the English version.

I saw nothing the enables both iGPU and external GPU at the same time.

It means very little actually. The selection tells the BIOS where to look for the GPU first. The setting "may" speed up the boot up process.

PEG = Look for GPU in PCI Express Graphics slot
PCI = Look for GPU in PCI slot
IGD = Integrated Graphics Device

I don't think the PCI/IGD setting will make any difference as I believe the IGD is disabled when you install a dedicated GPU. You can certainly try to see if the change makes any difference.

You can always reset the BIOS to default settings if you mess anything up.

You may simply have a hardware limitation, given the old tech, that you can't overcome.
