II x4 945 (95w) retail or II x4 955 (95w) oem

Hi, I'm looking at processors, my current is athlon II x2 240.

Should I go with phenom II x4 945 95w in a retail box, or Phenom II x4 955 (95w) OEM? 95w 955 only comes in OEM form.
I will not be overclocking due to not having the best air circulation in my Compaq case.

The reason why its between these two is because they are both the same price. I would be purchasing

if I were to get the OEM, and just continuing to use the cooler master cooler that came with the PC.

955 OEM, the difference between OEM and retail is the heatsink and warranty.

But, wouldn't the warranty be nice to have?
Also, if you could find out any more info on my fan that would be cool, because I'm thinking its designed for 65w processor.

Also, my current computer is a prebuilt compaq, with antec vp-450 and 4gb ddr3 7-7-7-24.

Get the x4 945, if you can get your hands on one.
There isn't much performance difference between the two & you won't have to worry about the heatsink & warranty.
You games and apps will run just fine.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too.

Could anyone possibly find some benchmarks comparing the 2?

I knew that. I just laid out an option, if he's concerned about warranty.

amuffin is right......you wont be able to overclock your proc......i had an 955 95w 1 and when i tried to overclock.....well,it wasn't stable beyond 3.4ghz......then i switched to the 955 BE 125 watt one and i am running @3.8ghz with stock cooler...so its your choice.....now i have backed up to 3.2ghz cause i got gtx 670 and there is no need to overclock......
