iIncrease resoluton to 1920 1080 on pc

My pc's resolution only goes up to 1440 x 900 resolution. But I just got this monitor that is native to 1920 1080. Please help

btw, i have a nividia 970 gtx video card

The card should adjust automatically for the new display resolution when you boot up. If for some reason it does not, try re-installing the gfx driver.

Btw, what resolutions are shown available in Win "screen resolution"?

doing something wrong because a gtx970 can go way beyond 1920 x 1080
