So im adding an SSD to my setup and I would like some advice on which to choose. Im on a budget so anything around the prices of the options I have listed.

1st option is a 1TB WD Blue 3D at £105.

2nd option is a 2TB Crucial BX500 at £160.

The WD Blue SSD is a bit faster. 30MBps on write speed, 20mbps on read speed.

Is it better to go size or speed in this instance?

I'd get the 2tb MX500 the speed difference between it and the WD will hardly be noticeable.

1. Buy the capacity you need first.
2. Speed differences among ssd devices are relatively minor compared to the difference between any ssd and a HDD.

If you want to compare different ssd devices, anandtech ssd bench will compare them for you.

3. some ssd devices are not that good, stick with the major makers who make their own components.
Intel and Samsung for example. A troublesome ssd is the last thing you want to deal with.

I have been burned by scan returns service and so prefer to stick with ebuyer for purchases..
