I'm building a new PC and my hdd won't show up

I've built me new PC, installed Windows on an ssd, then plugged in my hdd ( WD BLACK ). I don't see anything in the This PC tab so I check virtual disk manager. I get

-Disk 0
-Not initialised

So I try initialise it, what do it get? Incorrect Function. So I go to CMD and type diskpart and run it and I get "Disk 0" but it is online and it tells me that it has 0 bytes of storage.

I don't know what to do or how to sort it, I've been looking through Google and Reddit and tried nearly everything.

What are we talking about here? A HDD that's your SECONDARY drive? You're not talking about your SSD that's your boot drive, right?

The reason I ask is that you indicate "Disk 0" is uninitialized. Ordinarily your BOOT DRIVE would be Disk 0. But I suppose your SECONDARDY HDD is Disk 0, right?

So we can assume your SSD boots & functions problem-free, right? The problem is with the HDD, right?

In any event if that's the problem it's likely whatever data was on that HDD is "gone with the wind". Highly unlikely it can be restored but you may want to try one or more "data recovery" programs. There's a slew of them available on the net.

If retrieving the data is not your concern, just use Disk Management to initialize, partition, & format the drive. If there's an error msg from DM when you try to initialize the disk check your SATA data/power connections to determine all is secure. @Artpog, yes my hdd is the secondary and the ssd boot without problem. But when I go into disk management, nothing shows up. Like he black bar there is on the drive Colum isn't there.

I changed around the Sata ports so disk 0 was ssd and disk 1 was hdd but the hdd still says " Disk 1, Unknown, Not initialised." But dosent have any black bars like the tutorials do

It's fine, I took it to a tech shop near me and he checked it and said it was a broken drive thanks anyway
