I know only a little about computers and have been content with console gaming until now. The next gen consoles have too much stuff I don't feel like paying for though; so I've decided to commit to PC gaming. I put together an Intel build and an AMD build. Unfortunately, I lack the knowledge to be 100% sure which is the superior rig.
While putting these builds together, I tried to concentrate on 3 things: current performance, future expansion and overclocking capabilities.
Intel Build:
CPU - Intel Core i5-4670K - 3.4GHz - Socket 1150 – Unlocked (205 euro)
GPU - MSI GeForce GTX 770 Gaming - 2GB – PCI-E (280 euro)
Motherboard - MSI Z87-GD65 GAMING - Socket 1150 – ATX (165 euro)
Ram - Crucial 8GB - PC3-12800 – DIMM (65 euro)
SSD - Crucial M500 120GB (63 euro)
HDD -Western Digital Black 1TB (75 euro)
CPU Cooler - Enermax ETS-T40 (40 euro)
Power Source - Cooler Master Thunder B700 - 700 Watt (68 euro)
Total = 961 euro
I know Intel are not a customer oriented company and I have concerns about the long term upgrade-ability of their components. Dat motherboard though 😍
AMD Build:
CPU - AMD FX 8350 Black Edition - 4GHz - Socket AM3+ (175 euro)
GPU - ASUS Radeon R9280X-DC2T-3GD5 - 3GB – PCI-E (285 euro )
Motherboard - ASUS Crosshair V Formula-Z - Socket AM3+ - ATX (185 euro)
Ram - Crucial 8GB - PC3-12800 – DIMM (65 euro)
SSD - Crucial M500 120GB (63 euro)
HDD -Western Digital Black 1TB (75 euro)
CPU Cooler - Enermax ETS-T40 (40 euro)
Power Source - Cooler Master Thunder B700 - 700 Watt (68 euro)
Total = 956 euro
I really want to want this build, but I will not invest in an inferior rig just because I like AMD as a company. If they are close though, I think I will go with the AMD build.
So, with all that in mind guys, I'd love to hear your thoughts on the matter.
