Most videos I've watched just say attach a wrist wrap to a metal part of your case then your good to go but I want to be safe please explain the safest way for me not to damage anything

Safest way not to damage anything? Don't wear safety straps. You'll be hard pressed to find any news of static killing your computer in this past 8 years.

I already purchased a wrist wrap its only like 5 dollars but do I just attach to the case and build?

No. Don't attach it to anything. If you're extremely paranoid, just get near a power socket, then touch it with you fingers. That's it. There hasn't been a report where the safety strap has prevented static from killing your build.

As long as you don't touch contacts, you'll have ~0% chance of killing the build. The silicon is supposed to be ground.
