Hey...I'm trying to connect to the internet with my laptop using a CAT5
cable. When I plug it in, it says that it's connected and everything, but
when I try to open Firefox, it says that no web pages can be found. Same with
AIM, MSN, and Outlook: they say they can't contact the servers. In fact, it
acts like I'm not connected to the net at all! But when I unplug my cable, it
says that "A network cable has been unplugged". My wireless works just fine,
but I can't connect with a cable! What's wrong??
(By the way, I'm using a friend's computer to post this)

It's a really cheap router, connected to a DSL modem. But I fixed it now. I
set it to get an IP addess automatically instead o supplying a fixed one, and
I reset the router. And for some reason, it worked!

Might try unplugging/power cycling whatever you're plugging into so it
resets the mac table.
Wireless Modem ? Router ? What are you plugging that cat5 cable
into ?
