Question I'm doing a slight upgrade (CPU and MBD). What do people think and is it worth it?

Hi guys,

My current set up is:
CPU: Intel Core i5-6500
GPU: AMD RX 480
RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws V DDR4 2133 C15 x2 8GB
MBD: Asrock H170A-X1/3.1

And I am looking at upgrading:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1600x
MBD: MSI B450 TOMAHAWK

What are peoples thoughts?

Id get a 2600 or 2600x over a 1600X unless you can get an amazing deal on the 1600X.

Your 2133mhz speed RAM will be hit to performance with Ryzen, especially with the 1600X. 3200mhz speed is ideal although 3000mhz will be good also.

You may want to also wait since AMD will be announcing the Ryzen 3 pretty soon and speculation has hopes pretty high for it.

So maybe wait for an upgrade? And I'm probably looking at getting a new CPU, MBD and RAM. Do you think my AMD RX 480 will still be fine?

at some point the RX480 will inhibit performance as well, but, it's still a very good 1080P card...it's just not a 144 FPS card for most games, but, as long as you don't need one yet, then great...
