I'm getting a black screen

My build
CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Processor, Black Edition
MOBO: Gigabyte 880GA-UD3H
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8GB, 2 x 4GB, DDR3
Old Video Card: XFX Raedon HD 6870 1GB DDR5
New Video Card: XFX R9 270X 2GB DDR5

I just switched to the XFX R9 and after a few hours, I get this black screen that won't go unless I reboot a couple of times. I have the latest driver installed for the card and everything but its still happening. Any ideas why or how to fix it?

did you remove the old driver before putting on the new card and use this to read the minidump files in plain text http://www.resplendence.com/whocrashed

Yes, I did remove the old driver before inserting the new card. Any other possibles causes or solutions? Thanks for the link though, I'll try it out.

psu is ok since you have this with the new card only she could be defect did you try with one ram module only to see if this happens .
