Hi,
A few months back, my old cooling died on me (Asetek 510LC) so in the mean time I have been using the stock Intel cooler. I bought and installed a new cooler a few days ago (Corsair H55) although I'm not too sure whether it's working properly...
Idle: 40-50degrees
Load: 90+ (peaking at 97ish)
This is pretty much identical or slightly worse than what I was seeing with the Intel Cooler...
On the box it gives an example of 3770k @ 100% load with a temperature of 42degrees so I'm guessing my cooling isn't working properly/I've installed it wrong?
My CPU: i5-2500
Of course there is thermal paste as it already came with the cooler...
Both 3pin connectors are plugged in and should be working as I can feel the air from the fan
Just an addition to this(I know it won't be the cause of the problem) but on the instructions, it said that it'd be best to have the fan positioned for air intake for better cooling. I read online about which way was intake and I placed the fan that way although I'm starting to have doubts now...
The side with the 4 supports of the fan is facing internallly/inwards to my computer and the side with just all the blades showing is facing outwards. Is this correct?(Cooling is placed at the rear of the computer)
Regards,
Jared.
