Question I'm having a strange suttering issue

I recently noticed this issue while playing Destiny 2. I just got back into the game after not playing for 6 months. My build is nothing to write home about, but 6 months ago it ran Destiny 2 at 1080p 60FPS. I was content with that. So you can imagine my surprise when I boot up the game, and the first thing I notice is that my game is stuttering. Every 10-20 seconds, the game drops from 60 FPS to what looks like 25 FPS. What's puzzling is that my benchmarks say that I'm running a smooth 60 FPS all the time, even when the stuttering happens. This is definitely not true. The performance drop is abysmal. I can't play the game like this. All my drivers are up to date. My GPU is getting around 70C, so I'm pretty sure it's not a thermal issue either.

Here is my build:

RX 580 8gb

Ryzen 5 2600

16gb 3200 DDR4 RAM

Does anyone have a clue as to what might be causing this stuttering?

Hey there,

You might check your power profile, and put it on high or Ryzen profile. If it's on balanced mode, it can cause issues like yours.

Where can I locate my power profile settings?

Type into windows search 'Choose a power plan' and it will bring you to the options you have. Assuming it's Win 10.

Unfortunately, that didn't work . Still stuttering after changing to high performance mode
