I'm having Ethernet Blues

Howdy Folks,

Spent all day, doing everything that info on the web has suggested. But, I can not get my two computers to network together on a small Ethernet and router system. On both computers File Explorer can see each other, but can not connect. The Tower PC has Win 10 Pro, and the Laptop has Win 10 Home. Is that the reason? Do I need Win 10 Pro on the Laptop also?

Thanks.

Bart

Make sure network discovery and file sharing is enabled on both computers in network and sharing. Both must be connected to the same network.
If one gets its ip from the router and the other gets its ip from your modem they are on different networks.
Create a homegroup on one computer.
Connect to that homegroup on the other computer.

Windows makes it hard to set up networking the old way. You have to use their wizards.
