Question I'm having trouble with computer recognizing second hard drive

I installed hdd in my asus x551m using caddy. When I load my bios it not only doesn't recognize it, but the second port isn't even grayed out but missing. Its supposed to be according to what ive read. Does my computer not support second drive? Or can I turn it on somewhere in bios? Sorry for mistakes

You said "using caddy" are you talking about in the laptop or an external USB case for it? A new hard drive has to be formatted or cloned from the old one. Out of the box windows won't see it.
