I suspect its the CPU!
So i bought this computer with the information that it should be able to run csgo smooth. i have a 144 hz monitor as well, but im only having around 100-120 fps with alot of fps drops and laggy tendencies, this takes the smoothness away and therefore the actual joy of playing. I really want everything in csgo to be butter smooth, and im willing to do whatever it takes.. so community my question is, do i need to replace some hardware in my pc, or are my speccs good enough, just me making mistakes or blocking something?

Seeking help!

CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-6402P CPU @ 2.80GHz 2.80GHz (Skylake 14nm Technology)
Motherboard: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. B150M-A (LGA1151)
Ram: 8,00 GB
SSD/HDD: 223GB SanDisk SDSSDA240G (SATA (SSD))
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB
PSU: Model no: RS-500-ACAB-B1
Chassis: unknown (big cabinet)
OS: Windows 10 Home 64-bit

My computer is around 2-3 years old, but it has the same problems as the day i bought it, and it havent shown reduced performance since, neither better performance.

Thanks for your time!! I can provide furthermore information if needed.

Many regards, Chris.

what the cpu/gpu temp and usage during the game?
what the ram usage?
try gsync or vsync on?
Hey, thanks for the answer.

I tried afterburn, everything seems to be fine, so no overheating.
and about ur question, tried vsync yeah. Not sure i tried gsync, but i think i tried to find it once, but couldnt. (mby cuz im not able on my pc)

You have a mid-range GPU, and a slow power saving i5 which is slower than even a standard 6400, and are trying to game on a 144 Hz monitor?

Probably best to adjust your expectations, drop down to a 60 Hz monitor, and/or, see if your MB supports an i7-7700...or i7-7700K.

Yeah i play on a 144 hz.
I were once semi pro Csgo player, but that was before i sold my very expensive computer- and now i wanna try to play on a serious level again, so i really need my game to be smooth.

Before i bought this pc some years ago, i was told i cud run csgo 200fps + with smooth gameplay.. not sure if im doing something wrong here or smtn.

But if upgrading something fixxes the issue, then im willing to do it, or is it just buying a new pc?
