I'm looking for a good gaming CPU.

I have been browsing the web, looking through benchmarks and performance videos of this CPU and that CPU. I've seen many people say AMD is better, and others say Intel is better.

What I'm looking for is a reasonably cheap (under 130$) CPU that will be able to handle modern games. I do plan on doing some streaming and maybe video editing in the future as well.
I'm also looking for a good motherboard to go along with it.

( I was considering the Pentium G3258 for a time, so I paired it with the Z97, but I've researched it and found it's not what I'm looking for. I'm unsure if the Z97 is a good motherboard in of itself, since I've only ever seen it paired with the G3.)

My GPU is going to be a MSI GeForce GTX 960.

FYI, this is for a build I'll be doing soon, so I'm still shopping for parts.

for the price, why not buy an 8350? Dirt cheap and tons of power. We're comparing against a i5 not i7, 8350 will smoke an i5 hands down and cost the same.

I'm going to go with the FX 8320, but PcPartPicker says that it is incompatible with the Z97. Is this true, and if so, what is a suitable replacement motherboard for the 8320?

Preferably, I'd like to keep the price of the board under 120$ if possible.

Yes, FX-8350 is a very good CPU. The i5 and 8350 are close in performance, it out performs the i5 in games that utilize 8 cores, but for older games that demand a strong single core i5 will get a little advantage over the 8350. Both are great processors. Go with either one you want.
