Question I'm looking for a high quality PC speaker set

I can't speak for the quality of modern-day promedia 2.1s because I'm sure there's been a massive overhaul since their debut. I remember using these in the mid-2000s, and they blew away most computer-oriented speakers at the time. Think companies like Logitech, Altec Lansing... etc, that's how long it's been!

I would look into SVS if you're mainly looking for a sub. Maybe don't break inanimate objects in the future?

edit, a word.

oh, svs subwoofer is expensive.

Well, don't rule out the used market if you value quality.

If you're budget-constrained, then Audioengine has some better alternatives to those Klipsch. From what I've gathered online, it appears I was correct in my assumption. The promedia 2.1s from about 2010 onwards had a noticeable decline in quality, and they're using cheaper, lower quality components nowadays. Much lighter subs than the OG version.

Either way, good luck!

Yes it will play nice with your speakers to your new sub. Just get a RCA "Y" cord to feed the single sub out from your speakers going to subs R/L input so you feed both voice coils on sub.

Your computer sound setup blows the pants off some peoples home stereo's. Enjoy.

Love to see a pic all hooked up.

That will work fine as well. You get more features that's always a plus. The most important thing to remember when your setting up is to back off the bass volume to not over power the regular right / left speakers.

You know you have the sub dialed in when it seems like its not there. But when you turn off sub while playing music and the low end falls out your dialed in just right. Turn it back on and perfect balance with all three speakers.

You put the two male RCA "Y adapter" into the R/L input on the --------Subwoofer------- "line level input"

Than use a single cable from your-------small speakers------- "sub out" to feed the now "Y" adapter on your sub "sub input"
