Is there anyone out there who's very familiar with anemometers and manometers?
I decided to get a replacement of the ProtMex anemometer I have, but I'm not going to be surprised if it also has erroneous measurements, so I'm looking at some, including the one used by HWCooling.net, Extech AN300 (which is significantly cheaper on Extech's site than on Amazon), of which there are two variants.
I'm also considering getting a Pitot pressure anemometer instead, which is the only one I've found that will give me temperature, airflow and static pressure for something as small as case fans. In addition, unlike hotwire tech (which can't measure pressure), these aren't overly affected by variations in ambient, it seems, making it ideal for me. Also, I'm pretty sure it'll be a breeze (pun intended) to add it to my wind tunnel.
Hotwire literally uses a hot wire to measure airflow and speed.
It seems that most of the other types are either out of my price range, or not made for low speeds like at 500 RPM.
If anyone can enlighten me, or suggest products, it's much appreciated!
